整個「水知源」課程以認識日常用水及體驗簡單污水處理為主線:學生先收集清潔課室時產生的污水,利用不同的素材製作濾水器,並比較污水過濾前後的分別以測試濾水器的效能。
在「再生能源多面睇」中,學生需要製作手搖充電器,為振子馬達充電,最後透過振子馬達比賽比較各種能源(太陽能、風能及人力發電)的優點及限制。除了使用再生能源外,學生在過程中需要試用不同形狀、彈性及重量的材料,解決各種技術難題,以製作出能有效作賽的振子馬達。
